These courses have thoroughly inspired me and given me the confidence to make Kiiko style acupuncture the main style of Acupuncture I practise. I particularly love the degree of hands-on palpation and verification of diagnosis through the points that release the reflexes, which my patients find equally fascinating.

One of the main areas I specialise in is fertility and obstetric Acupuncture and am a member of the Acupuncture Childbirth Team London. A large number of my fertility patients have undergone or are undergoing invasive and stressful medical procedures, which cause extremely high levels of anxiety. Kiiko style is so amazing at calming and balancing the autonomic nervous system and is an essential part of my fertility treatments (especially important for the pre and post transfer treatments during IVF). 

I have had two patients recently in the last few weeks of pregnancy with such severe pelvic pain they could barely walk. Using a combination of visceroptosis  and neurovascular compression treatment gave them back their mobility and drastically reduced their pain levels. And today another patient in late pregnancy came into my clinic hugely anxious about her forthcoming labour, as well as suffering from extreme back pain. She was helped enormously, both emotionally and physically, using a combination of the trochanter treatment, structural treatment for her SI joint and Spleen 3.2 that magically released all remaining muscular pain.

I have been really impressed with the last few webinars. The camera work is terrific, as is the editing. You really get a good sense of exactly what Kiiko’s needling and palpation techniques are with the second close-up camera -and I love the picture-in-picture so that you get both views simultaneously. 

One of the big changes that I have noticed is the fact that key information will just pop up on the screen as you are watching so that you don’t have to trust your ears. You can hit pause and write down the concept or the points. 

As always, Monika is tops at answering any questions intelligently and thoroughly. And if she doesn’t know the answer to the questions she simply tells you she will get back to you. Personally I love that! Fantastic job!

The Foundations course was by far my favorite workshop. Even though I've completed the 150-hour program and I like the "new points" and advanced ideas from other workshops, I gained so much more clarity on the fundamentals and a deeper understanding of how to help people. I did wonder about the efficacy of learning online. I think online classes are just as effective as in person in the context of conveying the material. And in some cases it is perhaps more effective, because there is more chance to review as one is integrating the teachings.

I always get at least one or two (or more) nuggets that are new or that spin my web of knowledge a little deeper from each seminar. I love seeing Kiiko in person, but I can't deny that online is cheaper and sooooo much easier to schedule. Monika and Turning Point Seminars are doing a phenomenal job with the online Kiiko seminars. I started working with Kiiko, assisting in her office, and attending all her seminars in 2010. I have been to many in-person seminars, and the online seminars are better in a lot of ways.

Oftentimes when attending in person, it is difficult to capture all the material and see specifically what Kiiko is doing when needling patients. With online webinars, it is much easier to see exactly what she is doing. Plus, you can watch the videos for an hour or two at a time, and then go back to re-watch anything that wasn't clear. Monika's lectures and background info about Kiiko style are excellent. I especially like the annotations and subtitles. They clarify in real time what is happening in the lectures and treatments.

A huge part of my learning how to practice KMS acupuncture is watching Kiiko at work because almost every moment entails a new decision. It is a gift to be able to watch Kiiko’s process and, knowing as much as I do, to look beyond the basics and see more about her decision-making processes.

The videos are key to understanding how she incorporates vast amounts of palpatory information, how she sequences treating active reflexes (which varies all the time), what is the depth of her palpation, the way she builds trust and moves fast at the same time, when she chooses to treat both fire points on a meridian or just one side, and which aspects of a complex patient's comorbidities to treat and what to leave for another time.

I began studying with Kiiko in 2017 and was immediately blown away by her humor, energy, and especially by the deep connection to the Chinese medicine classics that she shares through her teaching.  I have been in practice as a Naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist for over 25 years and studying with Kiiko has completely transformed the acupuncture side of my practice. Her teaching brings together many disparate pieces, east and west,  and grounds them in the classics of Chinese medicine and in immediate clinical results.
